It's time to get hands on
The advice I was given when I first started volunteering still holds good.
Do not get separated from your lunch!Trust volunteer
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Trust. Without you we would not be able to manage our nature reserves and restore Derbyshire's wild spaces, we wouldn't be able to run our charity shops effectively or carry out our important education work. Volunteers really do help us in every aspect of our work.
From several days a week to a few hours a month, you can choose how much time to give, and all of it is greatly appreciated.
There are so many ways you can help...
To start volunteering please choose which role you would like above and complete the form on that page.
You will then be sent a confirmation letter and further guidance to get you started as a volunteer. In some cases we may ask to meet you for an informal chat, during which we can discuss your expectations and availability.
We can't wait to meet you!
Our trainee scheme
We also offer a volunteer trainee scheme - where you can spend 6 - 12 months getting a behind the scenes look at conservation and a chance to learn all the skills you need to help you get ahead in the jobs market. Find out more...

We love our volunteers!
Last year we gave you thousands of biscuits and hundreds of cups of tea and in return you put in 6,204 days to help us restore and protect Derbyshire’s wildlife and wild spaces and inspire thousands of people to love it as much as you do - thank you!
