Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (DWT) has launched WILD BNG, its dedicated Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) service, at the Construction Excellence East Midlands Summit at the Museum of Making in Derby.

Bringing a fresh identity to DWT's established Wild Solutions team, WILD BNG builds on three years of experience supplying BNG habitat units to more than 30 developers across the Midlands.

While the name is new, the team brings the same commitment to making Biodiversity Net Gain straightforward for developers, combining access to the right habitat units with personal service, expert support and competitive prices.

With customers returning to work with the team, the launch represents an opportunity to build on success, strengthen relationships across the development sector and reach more businesses looking for a trusted BNG partner.

Backed by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, WILD BNG brings together commercial understanding, ecological expertise and a genuine, long-term commitment to nature recovery.

Its habitat banks are helping developers meet their BNG obligations while creating meaningful, lasting benefits for wildlife, landscapes and local communities.

Phillipa Chappell, Director of Wilder Solutions at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and lead for WILD BNG, said:

"Development and nature recovery can, and should, work hand in hand. WILD BNG gives us a clear identity and platform to work more closely with developers, helping them meet their Biodiversity Net Gain commitments while ensuring those commitments translate into lasting benefits for nature.

"We understand that developers need a straightforward, reliable and cost-effective service. But we also know that BNG is about much more than meeting a regulatory requirement. It's an opportunity to create wilder places where people and nature can thrive. The best developments don't just meet standards, they raise them."

The launch comes as Biodiversity Net Gain continues to shape the development sector, creating opportunities for developers, landowners and conservation organisations to work together to deliver lasting benefits for nature.

Through WILD BNG, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust aims to build on its existing relationships with developers, housebuilders, construction businesses and professional advisers, making it easier for them to access the habitat units and expert support they need.
