Winter walk discovers Belper's trees

Friday 4th November 2011

Celebrate National Tree Week by learning how to identify trees in winter with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.

The Trust is organising a guided walk on Sunday 4th December around Belper Parks Nature Reserve. Without their leaves trees can be tricky to identify in the winter months – find out how to tell them apart by looking at their twigs, bark and tree shapes. The free walk takes place from 10am to 12pm - please book in advance as places are limited.

This event is being organised as part of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s Heritage Lottery funded Saving the Great Trees of Derbyshire project which aims to raise awareness of the importance of veteran trees. Our ancient trees provide important habitats for a variety of wildlife including birds, insects and bats. Additional funding is provided by the Trust’s Getting Closer to Nature Project, supported by the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All.

Contact Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to book on 01773 881188.
