The Avenue Washlands sightings by Ron Turner

BIRDS: buzzard 1, sparrowhawk 1, treecreeper 1, little ringed plover 1, song thrush 2, coot 3 (plus one still on nest on dipping pond), moorhen 6, Canada geese 15, mallard 2, barnacle geese 1, reed warbler, sedge warbler, willow warbler 6, dunnock 2, blackbird 6, chiffchaff 3, robin 4, magpie 5, woodpigeon 8, crow 6, blue tit 4, house sparrow 1, great tit 2, wren 1, blackcap 3, goldfinch 7, house martin 1, yellowhammer 5, linnet 1, jay 1, swallow 5, whitethroat 4, swift 8, collard dove 1; a blackbird’s nest was found but no eggs yet; MAMMALS: water vole; INVERTEBRATES: hoverfly (Leucozona lucorum).
