The Baker Family’s 30 Days Wild: Day Twenty Three

The most colourful day of all

Today we decided to celebrate one of our favourite aspects of nature; the colours we see around us every day. The natural world is absolutely gorgeous, and we do love picking out the many hues that we see no matter where we go. First up, we hijacked a friend’s crafting idea and made glittery nature shakers, which comprised a clear plastic bottle, numerous petals, leaves, and oddities we found in the garden, plenty of glitter, and water. When disturbed our shaker creates a swirling mass of colour; it’s gorgeous to look at, and therapeutic to boot. This afternoon was all about colour collection, and we wandered around the park in search of different items to represent as many shades as we could. We collected petals and leaves from the ground, fallen feathers, and even a blackbird egg, and then organised them on to white card once we got home – the colours really stand out against the card!
