Volunteer Reserve Warden
Could you spare a couple of hours a week as you walk around to help us look after our nature reserves? We are looking for people to join a team of Volunteer Wardens to play an important role in becoming the eyes and ears of our nature reserves, checking these sites and reporting issues. Some reserves may have opportunities to become involved in seasonal wildlife surveying and monitoring. Full training will be provided.

Volunteer Livestock Warden
The welfare of our livestock is of paramount importance to us, and we are looking for committed volunteers to help us with the daily checking of the animals, to ensure that they are healthy and well-cared for.
Practical Land Management Volunteer
Assisting Derbyshire Wildlife Trust staff and lead volunteers to carry out practical land management tasks on both Trust nature reserves and other lands. This could include habitat management and infrastructure work to develop Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s living landscapes in multiple areas of Derbyshire. No previous experience is required.

Wild Talks Volunteer
We want 1 in 4 people to be inspired to care and act for nature - so we are aiming to increase diversity and connect with new audiences. We want to tell people about our work and encourage others to get excited and interested in our projects.
We’re looking for great public speakers who will inspire audiences to get involved in our work and generate enthusiasm for our projects. You will respond to requests for talks from a wide range of organisations and groups throughout Derbyshire and be able to give information on our key projects and areas of work.
School Visits Engagement Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers to help us deliver our school visits at Carsington Water. Volunteers will work in pairs to assist the engagement staff by running pond dipping and minibeast hunting sessions in our outdoor classroom for visiting schools.
Wilder Communities Engagement Volunteer
We are working hard to ensure everyone in the Derwent catchment has the chance to be involved in improving resilience to flooding in their community. This role will support in in the running of community events, engaging with communities and the collecting of evidence.
Aqueduct Cottage Custodian
Aqueduct Cottage will be managed by volunteer custodians whose role is to ensure that visitors have as enjoyable a time as possible. No previous experience is necessary, just a bit of local knowledge and enthusiasm about the Derwent area.
As a volunteer you will have access to our ‘Volunteers’ section on the website where you can find the volunteer agreement, code of conduct, travel expenses claim form, and find out about volunteering news and events.
