| Inspired by the seasonal shifts of light, colour, and form, Maria Bolton creates paintings that capture fleeting moments of wonder in the landscape. Living and working in Derbyshire, she is particularly drawn to the county’s rich woodlands and their transitory beauty. Maria’s process begins with a stitched textile collage, creating a textured base that is then stretched, before the image evolves through painting and mixed media. Through heightened colour and expressive mark-making, she aims to evoke joy and a sense of calm, centred contentment. |
