About the event

Looking to connect with nature? Join Holymoorside and Walton Parish Council, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, and other local groups for a free community Bioblitz day on 14th June! Expect hands-on activities for all ages, including expert-guided wildlife walks, river dipping, and nature crafts.  

📍 Holymoorside Recreation Ground: 10:00 – 17:00 (plus a 6:30 AM dawn chorus walk).  

📍 Acorn Community Garden, Walton: 12:15 – 16:00 (bring your own picnic!).  

It's free, family-friendly, and dogs are welcome on leads.

Mobility

The recreation ground and village hall are wheelchair accessible. The optional guided walk routes involve rough ground and, in some cases, steps.

The nature activities will be held outdoors so please come in appropriate outdoor footwear and bring sun protection and a waterproof layer.
