About the event

Use the art of flower pounding to transfer natural dyes from plants & flowers directly onto fabric and embroider to embellish.

Join Philippa to embellish natural cotton fabric using the art of tension-releasing ‘flower bashing’ and mindful embroidered stitching!

Flower Bashing (Tataki Zomé) is the ancient art of hammering plants and flowers onto natural fabric to release the natural botanical dyes within.

Please note that the ‘pounding’ element may be completed in the kneeling position which takes approx 20-30 mins.

Ability requirements for embroidery: Basic knowledge of embroidery stitches (french knots, stem stitch, chain stitch, blanket stitch) although guidance will be given.

All materials supplied, including fresh flowers. You will go home with your own embroidery hoop to display your masterpiece!
