A bird ringing session this morning resulted in 54 birds including 14 Blackbirds, 6 Blue Tits, 4 Coal Tits, 3 Dunnocks, 3 Long-tailed Tits, 12 Great Tits, 5 Robins, 2 Goldcrests and 1 each of Nuthatch, Marsh Tit, Chaffinch, Wren and Bullfinch. One of the Blackbirds had been originally ringed at the Grips in Jan 2016, as was a Dunnock in Jan 2017 and Marsh Tit in Nov 2017. One of the Goldcrests had been ringed at Clowne sewage works in Jan 2018. One of the adult male Blackbirds weighed a whopping 128 grammes, its body weight totalling a third more than the lightest! Other birds recorded during the morning included Tawny Owl, Kingfisher and Buzzard.
