Lea Wood Sightings by Kate Lemon

Posted: Wednesday 11th May 2016 by leawood

Wednesday 11th May - Lea Wood is looking fantastic at the moment, the bluebells are at their best now, also in flower yellow archangel, greater stitchwort, wood sorrel, wood anemone, wild garlic just coming, celandine, red campion. Plenty of birds including coal tit, great tit, long tailed tit, blue tit, 4 singing pied flycatchers dotted around the wood, nuthatch, jay, tree creeper, blackbird, thrush, robin, dunnock and most excitingly, a spotted flycatcher! Also reptiles seen included grass snakes of various sizes and slow worms of assorted ages. And a dead field vole.
