Carr Vale Sighting by Mark Beevers

Posted: Tuesday 26th December 2017 by Carrvale

Still pretty quiet on the patch but still one Peregrine, Cetti's Warbler and two Chiffchaffs have been seem most days and are still present today (26th). Maximum counts of wildfowl since last posting are Wigeon 118 on 26th, Gadwall 57 on 25th and Teal 64 on 21st. Other highlights have been a distant swan sp south-east (thought to be Whooper), single Pink-footed Goose in with the Canadas plus two skeins of Pinkies totalling 300 west and three Chiffchaffs on 19th, the lone pink-foot and the male Brambling on 20th, pair of Shoveler and three Willow Tits (one singing) on 21st, pair of Shoveler again on 22nd, nothing of note on 23rd, female Goosander south on 24th, female Shoveler, male Pochard and ten Bullfinches on the mound table on 25th and just the male Pochard on the 26th.
