Wild Wellbeing Experiences

Wild Wellbeing Experiences

Inspire your staff with a wild day out

Time spent outdoors connecting with nature has been proven to help both our physical and mental health and wellbeing. Never before have we had such an appreciation of how important nature is to our wellbeing. Our Wild Wellbeing Experiences take place in the beautiful and inspiring Derbyshire countryside. Each of our three experience packages have been developed to include “The 5 ways to Wellbeing” and will help your staff to strengthen relationships, boost self-esteem and create a sense of achievement together and individually.

We believe a Wild Wellbeing Experience is the perfect opportunity to support the personal development of your staff team!

The 5 ways to Wellbeing

Research shows there are 5 steps we can all take to improve our mental wellbeing and by following these, your staff members will feel happier, be more positive and reconnect with each other as well as the natural world.

  1. Connect with People - strengthens and broadens relationships
  2. Keep learning - Develops a sense of achievement and confidence
  3. Take notice - Increases awareness of thought, feelings and the world around
  4. Be active - Positively changes mood and self esteem
  5. Give to others - Stimulates the reward centres in the brain and gives a sense of self-worth and purpose

Our corporate day activities have been developed around helping your staff to take these five steps in a safe, natural environment whilst creating a lasting legacy to wildlife.

We start the day with a mindfulness activity, helping us to notice the nature around us.  Then by taking part in practical conservation, we give back to nature and actively connect with what is around us with the added benefit of being active, which helps both our physical and mental health.  Our Kelly Kettle sessions help us to learn new skills and our reflection tasks help us to once more notice the nature we have come to love.

With two sites and a number of packages to choose from, there is sure to be something to suit your staff needs.

Wellbeing Work Day

Carsington Water

The beautiful Carsington Water near Ashbourne is host to our outdoor classroom and roundhouse shelter. Perfect for a get-together no matter what the weather, the site boasts excellent visitor facilities including bird hides, toilets, visitor centre, on site restaurant and café. The site is also wheelchair friendly and has disabled facilities in the main centre. The open waters and native woodland on site offer the perfect natural habitats for all kinds of birds including kingfishers, buzzards and grebes.

Hilton Nature Reserve

These worked-out gravel pits provide refuge for a number of species, in fact it's one of the best places to see bats and dragonflies in Derbyshire! Within this delightful wet woodland, there's a pond dipping platform, boardwalks and plenty of trails for you to enjoy whilst you listen for the numerous bird species that frequent the reserve. Visitor facilities at this site are basic so our team building days at this site are perfect for those wanting a wilder experience
