People of all ages are invited between 11.00am and 3.00pm to discover new ways to connect with nature and learn how to take positive action for wildlife in Derbyshire.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a range of engaging activities including wild wellbeing sessions, forest bathing, interactive Nature Tots experiences, nature-based crafts, and wildlife walks and talks.
The Rewilding Market Place will showcase the Trust’s on-going work to rewild and restore nature. Visitors can get experience what it's really like to be an eco-engineer with a go on a beaver virtual reality headset, demo flying a drone to monitor landscape-scale change, and see what animals and plants could be reintroduced with an interactive model of Wild Peak.
Each of the Rewilding Market Place stalls, together with the event’s very own mock campsite, will be demonstrating how natural capital and a thriving nature economy can be ingrained in everything we do for nature.
For those left feeling inspired to take bold action for nature themselves, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Glassball Studios will be on hand to chat about how to get involved in creative community-led solutions.
At 1pm, the Trust will host its 63rd Annual General Meeting, where members and supporters can hear about the bold work the Trust has been part of over the past year and its ambitious plans to restore more wild spaces and leave even more space for nature and people in Derbyshire.
A selection of local artisan stalls will be at the event offering nature-themed gifts, including handmade wildlife boxes, such as hedgehog, bird and bat homes, locally produced wine and ale, and natural remedies. There is also a plant sale run by the Trust’s Junior Rangers and a pop up cafe serving food and drinks.
