Woodside Farm sightings by Jim Steele

Lovely day with meadow browns, ringlets, small tortoiseshell, large skipper, common blue and small heath all flying. Hundreds of blue and blue-tailed damselflies. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, whitethroat, garden warbler and reed bunting still singing, and a grey partridge rose from my feet, whilst buzzards soared and a green woodpecker yaffled. A single pyramidal orchid was a delight whilst the numerous bee orchids are now going over. Some beautiful seed heads of goatsbeard or 'jack go to bed at noon' - what a stunning creation.
