Let them go wild this half term

Monday 30th January 2012

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust has the natural answer to half term boredom with activities for all the family.

Choose from:
An Owl Discovery Day at The Avenue Washlands near Chesterfield on Monday 13th February. Discover what these fascinating birds eat by dissecting an owl pellet and make an owl to take home out of natural materials. There are two free sessions to choose from: 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm. Booking is required.

Birding Bonanza, also at The Avenue Washlands, on Wednesday 15th February. Join us for games and walks, make a feeding station, and go bird spotting. There is no need to book for this free event, just come along any time between 11am and 3pm.

Tracks and Trails. Based at the Wildlife Discovery Room at Carsington Water on Wednesday 15th February, follow the wildlife trail and create a wildlife track in the woods, then make an animal mask to take home. This event costs £3 per child and there are two sessions, 10am-12pm or 1.30pm-3.30pm. Booking is required.

Elf Dens in High Tor Woods. Discover the lives of woodland creatures and make a miniature elf den on Friday 17th February. This free event is at the Whistlestop Centre in Matlock Bath and again there are two sessions, from 10am-12pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm. Booking is required.
