Part of the largest area of floodplain grasslands and wetlands in the Erewash Valley - great for bird watching and water voles.
July has started quietly.
Godwits were present briefly before being flushed by a Sparrowhawk.
The top bird of this month go's to a Whinchat.
Green Woodpecker is being heard regularly and a lone juvenile has been seen.
Little Egret, has been scarcer this year, so nice to see one back.
Both Barn & Tawny Owl were seen
Little Grebes still feeding their 2 young who are following their 'chosen' parent around while begging for food
2 common cranes approaching & calling from the NE. Looking to land with legs down.
