A picnic in the park

Our original plan for today’s random act of wild was foiled rather spectacularly by the huge queues of people with the same idea; we spent half an hour of our day sitting in traffic to enter our local reservoir, before turning round and heading to our nearest park instead.

As today was such a gorgeous one we’d packed a picnic, and spent the afternoon quaffing sandwiches and squash, dashing around the playground, and climbing trees, as well as taking our shoes off and feeling the grass between our toes.

It must be said; we did spend a great deal of that half an hour gazing into the nearby hedges in order to spot birds, but it wasn’t QUITE the wild experience we’d hoped for.

Never fear, park to the rescue!

As today was such a gorgeous one we’d packed a picnic, and spent the afternoon quaffing sandwiches and squash, dashing around the playground, and climbing trees, as well as taking our shoes off and feeling the grass between our toes. The park is our favourite wild place and we go there as often as we can, as there’s always something new to see – perhaps we should have ventured there in the first place!
