In which we watch a webcam

Today was an incredibly busy one for us, involving housework, shopping, and ferrying people around, and so when it came to our random act of wild we were a little stumped; surely we couldn’t be out of ideas already?! We desperately wanted to save tasks such as gardening, and visits to the local park, until we could enjoy them properly, and so turned to our Random Act of Wildness cards, which were included with our pack when we registered. Cards to the rescue! There have been peregrine falcons nesting at the top of Derby Cathedral since 2006 and, since then, millions of viewers have tuned in to watch their antics on the webcams that were installed soon after. As our random act of wild we joined in, catching sight of two chicks snuggled down in their nest. Our very first experience of a wildlife webcam was a lot of fun, and we’re going to carry on watching the chicks as they grow and eventually leave the nest. We’ll also be sure to check out other webcams starring local wildlife – we’re a little hooked now!
