Autumn adventures and Halloween surprises

Sunday 15th October 2017

We've planned a range of events to get the whole family out and about this this October half term.

Spend the school holidays adventuring and exploring with a series of fun activities, crafts and trails for families to enjoy together.

Go wild with us at The Wildlife Discovery Room, Carsington Water for our Batty about Bats event on the 25th October. Start your Halloween season by learning all about these fascinating creatures, doing batty crafts and making a bat box.

The autumn theme continues with our Happy Hedgehog – Wildplay Friday. We will be looking closer at these shy little creatures, why they roll up into a ball, how many spikes they have and all sorts of prickly hedgehog crafts and games at our Whistletop Centre on 27th October.

There are also opportunities for youngsters to get out and help wildlife and learn Ranger skills this autumn with our DerwentWISE Wildlife Youth Ranger group at Crich Tramway Museum on 26th October.

The adults are also spoilt for choice this autumn half term. Join one of our reserve work parties on a Sunday morning to help with the upkeep of our many nature reserves.

Booking is essential for many of the events and the full events list can be found on our website

And don’t forget that Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves are open all day, every day for a fascinating, free day out!
