Wyver Lane Sighting by Alex Morley

100+ black headed gulls dominated the lake this morning, with around 20 teal sticking to the eastern and western banks: these were occasionally noisy. Around 10 mallards were against the eastern bank, including what appeared to be a black & white domestic hybrid. One heron was wading in the southern area. A single cormorant flew in from the north to the southern end, landed for less than a minute before taking off to head back north. A buzzard made its way along the northern edge of the main pool, before following the trees along the Derwent bankside heading south, being mobbed by two corvids and a single kestrel. A few magpies were exploring livestock disturbed ground in front of the hide.
