Carr Vale Sighting by Mark Beevers

31st December 2017 - End of year update from Carr Vale. The highlight of the end of the year was the reappearance of the Marsh Tit from earlier in the month when it was relocated at the entrance gate feeder on 30th and 31st December. The 27th produced 109 Wigeon, 18 Cormorants and a male Siskin whilst on the 28th a male Shoveler, two Peregrines, Cetti's Warbler calling and in the evening a Barn Owl in front of the mound. On 29th a Barn Owl was seen again but in a different area, three Goosander north, male Peregrine and 21 Reed Buntings on the mound bird table. On the 30th 44 Gadwall, 103 Mallard, 51 Teal, Peregrine, Cetti's warbler and two Chiffchaffs whilst on the 31st 44 Gadwall again, Teal up to 66 and Peregrine.
