Tuesday 4th June: BIRDS: kestrel; REPTILES: grass snake; FLOWERS: common spotted orchid, southern marsh orchid, broom, lesser spearwort, horse radish, orange hawkweed; BUTTERFLIES: dingy skipper, small heath. Thursday 6th June: BIRDS: tufted ducks 3m plus pair now have 8 young, gadwall 1pr, mallard 7, Canada goose 11, moorhen 4, coot 3, barnacle goose 1, heron 1, pied wagtail 1, reed warbler, sedge warbler, reed bunting 1, mistle thrush 1, collard dove 1, bullfinch 1, black cap 2, yellowhammer 5, whitethroat 3, willow warbler 4, swallows 7, crow 3, swift 3, grasshopper warbler, linnet 1, house martin 1, magpie 2, goldfinch 6, chiffchaff 4, robin 7, woodpigeon 5, chaffinch 2, great tit 2, buzzard 1, song thrush 1 ,blackbird 5, wren 2, blue tit 1; FLOWERS: creeping cinquefoil, white clover, hard rush; MAMMALS: water vole in the dipping pond; BUTTERFLIES: orange tip 3, small white 3, dingy skipper 1, large white 3, green veined white 1, speckled wood 1, brimstone 1; MOTHS: small yellow underwing. CATERPILLAR: can anyone identify the attached picture?
