A legacy today for wildlife tomorrow


A Derbyshire rich in wildlife with healthy rivers, species-rich wildflower meadows and woodlands bursting with birdsong - what better gift can we leave to future generations?

With climate change and increasing pressure for space for roads and houses, our countryside is facing new threats. Through your Will you can help ensure that Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is able to help our wildlife meet those threats as we continue our fight to safeguard our precious habitats and species for everyone to enjoy.

Legacies provide invaluable income for the Trust, benefiting all aspects of our work.

Nature Reserves
Recent legacies have helped us purchase or extend our nature reserves. Glorious Hartington Meadows in the Derbyshire Dales, Willington Gravel Pits in the Trent Valley and Deep Dale in the Wye Valley near Buxton have all benefited from legacies, helping to safeguard some of our most important habitats for future generations. Money is also used to look after our reserves by creating new habitats, maintaining paths and fences and carrying out improvement work.




Conservation Projects

Through your Will you can help support our conservation projects, such as Water for Wildlife, which aims to preserve and promote our rivers and their wildlife.

Education and Community
Legacies can help us encourage young and old to care for our countryside through our education and community work by providing training, walks, talks, family events and projects.
