Lovely sunny day with lots of bird song in the Jacksdale canal & nature reserve area. Three high gliding buzzards on thermals, green woodpecker, two cormorants, jay, single male bullfinch, pair of greenfinches and long tailed tits 5 visible but more calling. A male pheasant calling then flushed. There were high numbers of the usual blackbirds, blue tits, great tits, goldfinches, chaffinches, dunnocks and robins. However, my hand feeding robin has not been around for three days now. What looked distinctly like a pair of chiffchaff, but no binoculars to confirm! They were first warblers in last year.
