Derbyshire's Bees

Join us to find out more about Derbyshire’s bumblebees – including the Bilberry bumblebee – and what makes the humble bumblebee a secret superhero! Discover some surprising ways we benefit from bumblebees’ special relationship with flowers; the threats they face in the modern world; and some simple things we can all do to help them. This illustrated talk by Rhodri Green from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s ‘Pollinating the Peak’ project will explore why the Peak District is an important national stronghold for the Bilberry bumblebee and will highlight some of the work being done to raise awareness of and conserve this iconic Derbyshire species.
