Guided walk reveals the value of trees

Wednesday 11th January 2012

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is organising a guided walk from Hayfield to discover more about the part trees play in our lives. The two-hour leisurely stroll, starting from Hayfield Countryside Centre, will take in a section of the Sett Valley Trail and will visit Bluebell Wood Local Nature Reserve. Along the way, participants will find out how different tree species have been used by man in the past, which ones are good for building, providing useful products and for keeping us warm, as well as their role in folklore.

The walk takes place on Saturday 11th February at 10am. It is part of the Trust’s Heritage Lottery Funded Saving the Great Trees of Derbyshire project. Places are free but booking is required - call Derbyshire Wildlife Trust on 01773 881188 during normal office hours.
