Trent Valley Regional Manager

Salary: £30,603 pa

Closing date: Monday 15th January 2018

Location: Derbyshire Wildlife Trust's Head Office at Middleton by Wirksworth and in the Trent Valley

We’re looking for an inspiring leader who wants to play a role in protecting nature, restoring wildlife to landscapes and inspiring people in Derbyshire.

Do you have the energy and passion, leadership skills and knowledge to transform the Trent Valley into a thriving haven for wildlife? Do you understand the critical role rivers and wetlands play in restoring balance, stopping the decline in nature and seeing it flourish? Do you see people at the heart of the protection of wildlife and want to engage and excite people to explore, play in and fight for nature?

We are in an exciting phase of our Strategic Delivery Plan and this is a key role that will support its success. We are an organisation that is passionate about championing resilient living landscapes, inspiring people to connect with nature and defending wildlife and need a team that is ambitious and energised to deliver this for Derbyshire.

This role would give you an opportunity to build and develop your team and lead on the delivery strategy and plan for the Trent Valley Living Landscape with the support of a skilled, knowledgeable and enthusiastic wider team.

You will need a multi-disciplinary background for this demanding and rewarding role with a mix of experience that may include landscape scale conservation, large scale wetlands and rivers, land and estates management, habitat creation & restoration, nature learning and play, volunteering and access & recreation, to develop and drive forward our vision in the Trent Valley. Experience of developing and managing teams with diverse work programmes, and large grant bid making and of establishing and leading strong partnerships with other organisations is also essential.
