Witches Oak Water sightings by Fiona Cox

On a crisp morning; temp 3 degrees with a light breeze. partially cloudy. It was a quiet morning on the reserve and the birds seemed quite flighty. Numbers counted on Phase II As follows: Tufted duck 55; Widgeon 45; Coot 40; Gadwall 2; Little Egret 4; Grey Heron 2; Golden eye 5;black headed gull 200+; G.Black back gull 2; Teal 15; Great crested grebe 3; Kingfisher 1; Swan 9; swan family with 2 signets still on reserve. Other birds seen/heard: 1 Cetti Warbler; Long tail tit; blue tit; great tit; black bird; green woodpecker, male bullfinch; male pheasant; robin. Water rail heard. Mammals: grey squirrel and a fox
